The name indicates the origin of the company's history. In 1989 Michael Weidlich founded his company "Schallreproductionstechnik" in the old town of Celle. The CELLENSIS is also the last model that was developed at this location. With the flat diaphragm chassis, a concept can be implemented that a thoroughbred bass chassis can be used in a two-way loudspeaker. The position of the flat diaphragm chassis is selected in such a way that the distances to the adjacent housing edges have a favorable relationship to each other. This contributes to the linearization of the transmission behavior. In addition, the housing edges are rounded, which reduces the edge diffraction of the sound and improves the radiation behavior. Both chassis have sandwich membranes made of aluminum with a honeycomb structure between the layers. This ensures a piston-shaped movement without losses due to yielding membrane partial surfaces and without energy storage effects due to voice coils immersed in the membrane (spring-mass effect). Due to the outwardly curved diaphragm of the woofer, as well as the huge voice coil in relation to the diaphragm gauge, the acoustic center is located far in front and thus allows simultaneous radiating in the direction of the listener.
