Myro Digital 1 specifications

Category : Speakers

First active speaker with digital filters from Myro . The model is currently under development. It is intended as a technology study to explore the sonic possibilities of digital filters for impulse-correct loudspeakers. The aim is to find out whether the signal- / time-correct concept of the passive Myro frequency filters can be successfully replicated, whether it will end in a hybrid concept and whether a digital solution sounds just as dynamic and clear. The basis is a slim loudspeaker with two low midrange drivers in a symmetrical arrangement around the tweeter (D'Appolito). Due to the very compact design of the tweeter, the distances between the chassis are very small. This promises an excellent vertical radiation behavior. The tweeter is not screwed to the housing, but is held in the opening by a special tensioning device with the help of a rubber ring. This not only reduces the overall size, but also reduces the transmission of vibrations to and from the baffle.

Two Sauermann power amplifiers are used per loudspeaker, which have proven to be superior in interaction with the Accuton chassis. The electronics are outsourced in the form of a 4-channel power amplifier with digital filters and D / A converters. The control directly with a digital source (e.g. PC) is possible.

The transit time compensation of the acoustic centers in the direction of the listening place is carried out via a digital delay. Corresponding mechanical design details are not required. The Accuton digital module DSP192-4-111 will be used. This module has been specified by Thiel & Partner specifically for the Accuton chassis.

The result of the technology study will eventually be incorporated into the concept and further development of the Myro Argun.
