• In the Sony TC-K 611 S , the dual-capstan drive was omitted compared to the previous model of the 6-series, the TC-K 690 (sold in 1992-93) . This was continued by the TC-K 711 S (newly created 7 series).
• The successor model Sony TC-K 615 S has a few comfort functions less. For example, the adjustable headphone output has disappeared.
