The CT-S 740 S, similarly equipped but more compact and cheaper, was launched a year later and sold at the same time for a few years, but is strictly speaking not a successor model of the CT-S 830 S but of the CT-S 730.

Stereoplay 6/1995: Top class I. Stereoplay Highlight. Then from 1997 (classes were eliminated): Good. 39 Points. Absolutely 2nd place in "Rank and name" (leaderboard, from 9/1995). Still listed in 12/1999
STEREO 3/1995: 4th place in the 1997 leaderboard (1st place of the absolute order 12/1998). 2 Stars, Very good. "One of the best on the market - unfortunately much more expensive than its predecessor" then 1st place on the leaderboard in 1998. Still listed in 12/1998
