Hans Gerhard Hennel and his family found the "Company Hennel" in Schmitten/Taunus. Initially, only tube radios are produced.
"Company Hennel" is renamed to "Heco ", which stands for HEnnel and CO.
The first Heco Hi-Fi loudspeakers, the B310 model, are produced. They were developed by the then still young engineer Wolfgang Seikritt.
Heco is sold to the British Rank Radio, including the factories in Remscheid and Schmitten and including naming rights. However, a small part of the family business, the plant in Berlin, remains in the family, as it belongs to Hans G. Hennel 's wife Suse Hennel.
Three employees leave Heco and found Canton . The founding shareholders were Hubert Milbers (Managing Director), Otfried Sandig (Marketing, Sales), Günther Seitz (technology) and Wolfgang Seikritt (development)
Heco Hennel & Co KG, Berlin, owned by Suse Hennel, starts production. The company belongs to the holding company H. Dahl KG, Hamburg. These also include Dahl Elektronik KG and CEC Europa GmbH. Visonik became known for its compact David loudspeakers.
A number of speaker developers from Braun are switching to Heco and Canton .
Loudspeakers under the company name Summit with reference to "A product of Hans G. Hennel GmbH + Co KG" are produced. The place of production is Usingen. (However, there are also mentions of Summit /Wehrheim.) Summit is a new company founded by the son of Suse Hennel.
loudspeakers with the brand names "Planet" and "MR Service" and loudspeakers without a further brand name (e.g. TS 7007, GTS 1020) also bear the same designation.
