With CS 70 initially, Dual referred to the complete turntable consisting of the walnut console Dual CK 22, the hood Dual CH 6, the drive Dual 701 and the 7ee6bd4e01033ee909e058b5c60f7a7d M 20 E scanning system. A version in white sanding varnish could be ordered as a Dual CS 70 W.
With small changes such as the CK 24 console (with a better hood mount) and the Shure V15 Type III scanning system, the turntable was given the designation Dual CS 701 and Dual CS 701 W, respectively.
After the Hannover Fair in 1974, the aforementioned designations were abandoned and the complete turntable was named Dual 701, regardless of the scanning system.
The built-in automatic chassis was also sold to industrial customers. In a more elegantly designed case, the turntable was manufactured in 1974 by the company. Wega as "Wega 3431 " at a price of 1100.- DM offered. The scanning system here was also the 7ee6bd4e01033ee909e058b5c60f7a7d M 20 E.
Dual introduced its first directly driven drive with the EDS 1000 motor. The philosophy was pursued to realize a drive system with as little kinetic energy as possible in order to minimize interference influences on the scanning system.
