Display Technics RS-M 253 X and RS-M 245 X (Audio 11-1983)
Personal experience of the author:
Overall, the RS-M253X is a pretty solid, neat sounding recorder. Weaknesses are most likely to be found in the drive, which, due to the simple design, is clearly inferior to recorders with a double capstan drive. An eye-catcher is undoubtedly the level indicator, which is not only visually well done, but also resolves quite finely.
A nuisance, on the other hand, is undoubtedly the digital counter, which can be set to real-time display during playback, but then immediately jumps into the three-digit counter mode during rewinding and rewinding - and stays in this mode as long as you don't dial real-time again at the touch of a button. Very annoying, especially when searching for titles!
There are separate microphone inputs (mono jack) for the right and left channels on the back of the device.
