  • The capstan shaft and the tape counter are powered by. The rubber belt for the capstan shaft is a flat belt and lasts very long. The rubber belt for the belt counter is a square or round belt and will wear out at some point. Both belts are still available as spare parts on ebay, but replacing these belts is very time-consuming, because you have to remove the entire drive and disassemble it partially.
