  • The MS-16 TASC AM's newest professional Multitrack Recorder is exceptional and operation data for the most demanding applications developed to offer.
  • The drive chassis has been designed for the toughest use, so that the belt run and the adjustment remain stable for many hours, even in rough operation on site.
  • The MS-16 is also designed to be connected to SMPTE standard controllers and control units for precise automatic localization and for synchronous operation in video/film.
  • Despite its outstanding operating data in virtually all fields, the MS-16 uses the economical 1-inch 16-track tape format with a speed of 38cm/s (15 ips).
  • There are both balanced +4 dBm inputs and outputs with XLR as well as unbalanced -10dBV inputs and outputs with RCA jacks for full compatibility with all types of studio equipment.
  • As with all other TASC AM multi-track recording devices of the top class, the frequency response of Sync is identical to the playback frequency response, so that absolutely no sound loss occurs when tracks are overplayed.
  • The heads of the MS-16 are manufactured with microfine precision tolerances and are mounted on a precision-machined injection-molded base block, which guarantees stable adjustment over a long period of time.
  • DX-8 DS dbx Noise reduction unit
  • The 8-channel DX-8DS dbx noise reduction unit has been specially designed for operation with the MS-16 using a multi-pad connector.
  • Monitor Selection Options
  • The monitor selection options have been carefully designed for great speed and ease of use in all types of shooting situations. You have the choice between input, sync or playback output, and insert switches (pre-load) allow you to listen to both the input and sync playback of the recorded tracks. An "Input Enable" switch allows the input to be listened to during fast rewinding or stop, regardless of which recording mode has been preselected, in order to have an easy communication option between the control room and the studio. * If it is switched on ("ON"), the STOP MUTE function suppresses noises that may occur when the device is switched between stop and other operating modes. In the "OFF" position, "Stop Edit" is possible.
  • The drive of the MS-16 and the electronics are separate and both parts can be mounted in any standard EIA device rack. For a conveniently readable instrument display, the instrument bridge can be separated from the electronics using the T-0865 instrument cable set.
  • The electronics and the amplifier stages for recording, playback and pre-magnetization are modular with one printed circuit board per channel. The access is quick and easy and thus minimizes the time required for the service. For remote control purposes, the recording function selection group and the controller unit for the outputs are removable using the CS-63 remote control set.
