Category : Speakers
Relatively large compact speaker, which, in addition to home use, is also used in the recording studio. It was even installed for voice transmission in a temple (1 loudspeaker, up to about 25 m listening distance). The model was initially developed on special customer requirements as a return loudspeaker for the Myro Grand Concert II and represents a further development of the Myro Concert Monitor. The original design was characterized by Myro -typical rustic and angular shapes. A revision in 2009 rounded off the case shapes and made them similar to the new Myro Ocean , which is a further development of the whisky with more competence in the woofer.
Concept
New price: 10270 Euro
Equipping Tweeter: Mundorf AMT 2540 Low-mid tone: Seas Excel W16-NX001
Minimum listening distance: 1.7 m There are also 1.5 m possible. In this case, one should listen horizontally slightly off-axis, so that the treble level is not above the level of the midrange level. The jump response is also OK again.
Crossover The Whiskey has a double rear panel. In between is the crossover chamber decoupled from the print volume. Vibrations of the switch components and the associated microphone effects are thus minimized. Due to the typical Myro filters, there is no classic cut-off frequency in the whisky. The transition range is in the range around 2 to 4 kHz. The woofers are also involved in the events with a smaller proportion. The reproduction of the 3 kHz sine wave (first period, picture) is an interaction of the Air Motion Transformer and the Seas chassis. The measurement signal around 3 kHz is one of the hardest touchstones for loudspeakers, since the crossover frequency between the midrange and tweeter system is usually in this frequency range.
The whisky can be extended with the bass modules Myro The Rocks .

Product description
Mag. art. Ulrich Katzenberger Sound Engineer (University of Music and Performing Arts Graz)
"I have been working with the myro Whisky speakers for almost a year now and I am still very impressed by their sound qualities. They have a very natural and honest character and bring out even the smallest details and nuances. Above all, the spatial representation of various instruments in the mix is absolutely top class."
Christian Zimmerli Sound studio zimmerli SOUNDS
"The Whisky loudspeaker from Myro is exceptional in design and sound. Effortless and independent of musical style, the playback impresses with safe audibility. Panorama and virtual depth are to be felt decisively, the timbres are reproduced unadulterated. This is especially helpful when setting filters. Since the development of the loudspeaker takes into account the time conditions of playback, the settings of a compressor are easily acoustically comprehensible and can be optimized. The pleasant treble reproduction is characteristic, the tweeter used impresses with a low distortion factor. Ultimately, the decisive factor for use in the studio is the transfer of the heard and achieved sound results to the variety of systems outside the studio island. The detailed comparisons were excellent and convincing. The whiskey makes me forget about speakers and listen to the music. The detailed reproduction in terms of space, location and timbre promise exciting, safe work when mixing and tonally editing the recordings."
"For me personally and subjectively, Myro s Whisky is one of the hi-Fi devices that have impressed me the most during my Hi-Fi career."
