"In order to defy the omnipresent Far Eastern competition, Grundig s Product Manager Dr. Burkhardt Schwäbe realized in 1979, in addition to the no less legendary 5000 series, a number of noble compact components, which Should convey pure understatement - the Grundig "M-Series".
The competition between two development teams resulted in a compact Hi-Fi system of exceptional quality at Grundig . Due to the large number of orders, the loudspeaker laboratory took over the development of the preamplifier and power amplifier, because the loudspeaker developers had already set standards with their excellent active speaker concept. The tuner came from the laboratory traditionally responsible for this. The result of the competition were top-class components, which consistently received the unanimous praise of the professional community.
If the name of the product manager seems familiar to anyone, Dr. Schwäbe may also be known as the person responsible for the fine arts series published in the second half of the eighties.
The MA 100 delivers a good 60 watts of sine per channel. Their special feature is the electrolytic-free output, which is responsible for the exemplary linear frequency response and the depth damping factor of 60. The input level controller allows easy connection to almost all preamplifiers. With regard to the connection impedance of the preamplifier, the MA 100 harmonizes perfectly with the MXV 100 (and of course with any other high-quality preamplifier). Connecting cables up to 10 m long can be used without hesitation, which allows the placement of the power amplifier in the immediate vicinity of the speakers."
