Dokorder specifications

Category : Manufacturer

Brand : Dokorder

Dokorder stands for Denki Onkyo Co Ltd., NOT for Denon . See also factory sign:

DENki ONkyo is a general term for "electric sound". And Dokorder was also not related to Onkyo ! Rare Japanese brand known for speakers and tape-based products, which stopped production around 1976/77 shortly after the appearance of the Model 1140. Luxman apparently bought the Dokorder factory to expand its own activities (that is, for the 5K50 and other cassette-based components) and Dokorder was finally acquired by Murata in 1982 - and Luxman by Alpine a year later. It was more likely that Alpine took over the recorder business and handled the new Lux recorders in this particular factory.
