In the spring of 1999, physicist Norbert Schäfer and Dipl. Ing. Joachim Zürn the Translife GmbH in 74214 Schöntal-Oberkessach (Osterburker Str. 14), which was registered by the District Court of Stuttgart on 7.04.1999 (HRB640K).
Norbert Schäfer had already made a name for himself since the seventies as a developer of loudspeaker boxes for his company Phonogen , for ATL and for design acoustics Schäfer. With the Largo, he introduced the Trans series, which had already been introduced with the Phonogen Transfer, into a third generation for Translife Media Systems. Joachim Zürn, whose diploma thesis on "computer-aided theoretical recording of various loudspeaker and housing parameters" has become the basis for many box designs, took over the economic management and sales.
Until the onset of the economic and banking crises, in the mid-2000s, the company was able to maintain a respectable position. However, in 2008, the owners decided to cease business operations in order to wait for "better times". On 29.05.2012, the Federal Gazette published the final deletion of the company registered under HRB590640 at the District Court of Stuttgart. The stocks of parts and means of production were dissolved at the end of 2013.
