The Luxman Laboratory Reference series made their debut in 1977 had. As is often the case with Luxman , the information, depending on the source contradictory.
Highlights of this series were the first Real Time Processed DC amplifier, first synthesizer tuner, computer-controlled cassette deck and stably stackable components (For the 4 device feet there is a corresponding recess in the device below)
Other components of the Laboratory Reference Series were in addition to the 5M21 power amplifier, the 5G12 Graphic Equalizer, the 5F70 parametric tone controller and the 5E24 LED level indicator unit.
Later, the Laboratory Reference series was expanded to include the following devices: the 5L15 integrated amplifier, the 5M20 power amplifier without VU meter as well as a cheaper tuner, the 5T10 and the Cassette Tape Deck 5K50. The 5K50 was the very first tape deck from Luxman and could have been made by the bought-up third-party manufacturer Denki Onkyo (own brand Dokorder not Onkyo !) have been produced. Later after the takeover by Alpine , probably at Alpine .
The functionality, performance and the innovative design made the series unique and unmistakable
