The Yamaha C-4 is the preamplifier for the M-4 power amplifier. Its workmanship is very good, everything is made of metal and sits exactly where it should be. The illumination of the buttons usually does not fail, i.e. you do not have to replace them often, in most cases I think that these devices still have the original lights. The phono preamp is excellent and the possibilities of sound control are definitely enough. The two pre-outs for two power amplifiers are very practical. The preamplifier is very heavy, which again speaks for its good workmanship. The C-4 gets quite warm when it is in operation, which according to oral tradition should be due to a Class-A circuit. Conclusion: The Yamaha C-4 is highly recommended and fits perfectly with the power amplifiers M-4 and M-2.
