This device had only Dolby B and C as noise reduction, while the next smaller model CT-S 630 S already had Dolby S on board. The latter had a simpler single-capstan drive for this. The CT-S 730 is identical in dimensions and technical values to the CT-S 830 S. The latter also has Dolby S on board and was also 200 DM more expensive. The focus of the trade press was the CT-S 830 S equipped with Dolby S, which was also tested several times and also topped the leaderboards. The CT-S 730 was only built for 1 year and was replaced by the CT-S 740 S.
