The Philips CD 960 WT in large Parts identical with the Marantz CD-94 CD-95 CD-99, CD-12, the Philips LHH-1000, the Micro Seiki CD-M2, CD-M100 CD-M2000X and the Wadia-3200 and ran with them from the tapes of the Marantz manufacturing facilities in Japan.
The CD-960 is the most expensive CD player ever sold by Philips . The massive chassis is made of zinc die-cast, the power supply would rather be found in a medium integrated amplifier today and two icons are enthroned above everything – the indestructible Philips CDM1 drive, also made of zinc die-cast and with glass lenses from Rodenstock, and probably the most musical digital / analog converter ever, the Philips TDA1541.
