ISS is a subwoofer system developed by Heco . The low-frequency systems work in completely separate acoustic chambers and become extremely steep-sided (18-24 dB / Oct.), decoupled between 150-250 Hz. The result: a precise, extremely deep bass. All Superior models(except Superior 620)can therefore be regarded as "cum basso continuo system". The basis of the ISS technology is a low-midrange loudspeaker, the so-called fundamental driver. The fundamental range between 300 to about 3000 Hz, which is particularly critical for hearing, must be reproduced as true to phase as possible. If the fundamental range is not transmitted in a time-accurate and sound-neutral manner, the overall reproduction of instruments and voices may not be reproduced true to the original and be free of discoloration. Therefore, this range is reproduced by only one phase-stable converter. This low-midrange speaker is equipped with a low-resonance, true-to-sound polypropylene cone diaphragm, which is installed in a torsion-resistant die-cast light metal chassis.
