Specifies a frequency range in which a device or component operates.
For filters, the lower and upper limit frequencies are specified, these are the frequencies at which the signal is attenuated by 3dB. The attenuation is less between these cutoff frequencies (bandpass).
For radio stations, the bandwidth is defined by the lower and upper cutoff frequency of the emitted signal. Usually these are symmetrical about the carrier frequency, and the bandwidth is determined by the type of modulation.
