I have recently started a Yamaha MX-1 000 power amplifier. I had to renew the lighting, but you can easily do it yourself thanks to the service-friendly design. The handling of the power amplifier is generally very well thought out. There is the possibility to connect three pairs of speakers, you can completely turn off the lighting and change the power indicator to 2.4 and 8 ohms. Compared to my Yamaha M-2 power amplifier, I can say the following: the MX-1000 is clearly better suited for everyday use, but it is less well-made and not nearly as interesting. The MX-1000 is a 'normal' high-quality amplifier with which you can bring most speakers to their peak. A shortcoming: The MX-1000 has no 'overload' or clipping display.
