Based on proven technology, the goal of the Thorens developers was to invent a turntable that not only sounds good, but also looks elegant in its external appearance and stands for itself as an object. The technical prerequisites for dynamic playback of vinyl records were created by a solid wooden frame and a sandwich-type wooden plate. Thus, the drive provides a quiet, muffled scanning. The springy feet absorb impact sound and externally influencing vibrations. Disturbing scanning noises and vibrations are effectively dissipated and damped by a massive turntable. The mass is also a guarantee for quiet synchronisation. To ensure perfect synchronisation in both 33 1/3 and 45 rpm. to ensure this, the subteller, which is customary at Thorens, is driven by a synchronous motor by means of a belt. The control electronics are operated by means of a start/stop button and switches off at the end of the plate, which contributes to the protection of the needle. The bearing and arm are built in good Thorens tradition and are considered the optimum par excellence in this class. The turntable, which is available in various housing versions, has been provided with a multi-applied piano coating, which gives the Thorens TD 295 MK IV a truly "shiny" noble appearance.
