The RADA L from R+ R Raumklang is a real showpiece of the, unfortunately no longer existing, loudspeaker manufacturer from Recklinghausen. The Gebrüder Nebel created this slim and very "housewife-friendly" (look Schleiflack white or Schleiflack black) 3-way floorstanding speaker, as a symbiosis of subwoofer unit + mid and tweeter chassis. In the magazine Hifi-Vision, this sound transducer was rated "good" at the time - quite a passable result for a loudspeaker from a small loudspeaker manufacturer, which, to my knowledge, had not placed any ads in this magazine. Unfortunately, I personally only own a replica of this type, since the original was no longer available for purchase in 2000. I would describe the listening sensation as follows: Precise treble - powerful, crisp bass range - a little too velvety midtone. In any case, no savings were made on the chassis at that time - the speakers cost about 4000 DM as a pair. Whereby the midrange drivers alone - I mean that they came from Norway (otherwise I ask for correction) were already booked with about 600DM / piece alone. In my opinion, the crossover was saved a little - you could have gotten more out of the midrange drivers.
Conclusion: The RADA L was a visually and sonically excellent speaker. If it should be offered again, I will definitely be one of the first buyers - and that in 2009!
