The first version of the classic (and rare) test instrument from Pioneer . It integrated an oscilloscope with waveform/Lissajous/FM multipath display options and combines that with dual (V/H or L/R) level meter. The SD-1000 is not quite as versatile in quad display/analysis functions as the next version SD-1100, but it is a classic design and a very useful (and attractive) test instrument.
The device has an integrated frequency generator, for sweep and sine. 4 separately controllable inputs. You can have waveforms displayed.
The level meters are in a pre-Silver Aera color scheme of green/orange with a black fascia.
The SD-1000 is a stereo display device that can synthetically observe and measure acoustic properties such as various waves and also sound field properties of a listening room.
A tuner with multipath output can be connected and the orientation of the antenna can be optimized more easily.
Two large-sized level meters can be used for power and voltage measurement as well as as a VU level meter.
The input terminal for 4-channel is also prepared.
The device is also equipped with a broadband frequency amplifier for a mono microphone. In this way, the sensitivity, the acoustic frequency response and the characteristics of the speaker system can be checked with an electret condenser microphone. The Pioneer microphone was optionally available as type Pioneer CM-01.
