    • The models A-77X and A-88X were the elite amplifiers of the Pioneer series at that time, with the A-88X leading the series in terms of equipment and performance. The devices probably originated from the predecessors A-60 to A-80, which have quite similar data.
    • All models (starting with the A-66X) have "of course" metal fronts and metal controls. The volume control of the A-88X is made entirely of metal and is attached to the potentiometer with an Allen screw.
    • The A-88X is a typical fat Japan amp: solid workmanship,full output power and connections with perfect technical data.
    • This model was the top part of Pioneer for us at that time. But just as typical Japanese: in Japan itself there was one size larger.
