The Moth amplifier series can hardly be beaten in British understatement. Simple black box with a 2 cm thick wooden board as the front. The only luxury is the red "Power On" light-emitting diode.
The preamplifier is passive, i.e. it does not require a power supply, but has all the necessary inputs. For the phonofriend there is another box with an RIAA equalizer (phono preamplifier) with two different power supplies to choose from. The 12 VA power supply comes as a plug-in power supply (as far as I know), the 100 VA power supply in the same housing as the power amplifier.
The power amplifiers are available as the one described here
The developer is Stan Curtis, known for his developments at Cambridge Audio , Rotel , Quad , Warfedale, IAG and others.
So far, everyone to whom I have demonstrated them has been enthusiastic about the sound of these small boxes. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to get in Germany.
