The Loewe LB 35 has a front, side panels and rear wall made of 16mm chipboard, all of which are covered with foil without wood grain.
The closed housing is lined with insulating wool.
The equipment consists of a Noname 16 cm woofer (4 ohm) from Taiwan and a 6 cm cone tweeter from Scanakustik, connected in parallel. The tweeter is only separated from the woofer with a capacitor, there is no real crossover. A loudspeaker terminal was also dispensed with. The rings around the chassis, which are translucent due to the front covering, are obviously intended to imitate metal surrounds, but turn out to be merely painted on when the covering is removed.
The speaker box sounds very mid-stressed. To save the nerves, most owners will probably have turned up the highs and lows on the amplifier to reduce the mids relatively. Given the weak sound, this speaker may have been intended only as a makeshift for customers who were not willing to spend a higher amount for acceptable speaker quality
Note.: By replacing the bass midrange driver (even 165 mm DIN car speakers fit easily, tweeters simply put down), the sound in the bass and midrange can be significantly improved.
