'DIRECT CONTROL' drive system that combines the advantages of belt and direct drive. The belt drive is controlled via a tachogenerator in the drive controller. As a result, a constant speed is made possible even with changing loads on the drive, which is caused, for example, by cleaning brooms, temperature or mains fluctuations.
Tonearm balance integrated in the locking position base.
Adjustable support force and anti-skating. In the case of antiskating, there are separate scales for spherical and elliptical needle grinding.
Sprung subchassis coupled to the frame with three leaf springs.
Speed deviations are displayed via an LED display with three LEDs. If the middle LED lights up alone, then the selected speed is exactly maintained.
Mechanical final cut-off
The standard headshell has a hole spacing of 1/2" but no slotted holes, so that only the Philips pickups of the Super M II series fit exactly. In order to also be able to use pickups from other manufacturers, Philips had a 1/2" universal headshell with long holes with the order number 4822 402 60627.
