28-18000 Hz (manufacturer's specification, with SEQ 3 equalizer and closed lower reflex channel)
Optional SEQ equalizer for step-down to 28 Hz with closed lower reflex channel
Discussion Woofer 815 9062 , B15, DL15W: Always 815 9062 in the finished box, in the kit, according to an Electro Voice brochure from 1986, the B15 is called TT. Whether there has ever been a TT marked like this is quite uncertain. There are neither pictures nor an EDS (EngineeringDataSheet) as proof of existence. Perhaps the risk of confusion with the 15B was too great and it was renamed. In a prospectus from 1989, the DL15W is mentioned as the TT of the Sentry III. There are pictures of this and an EDS from EV. Unfortunately I have no brochures from 1987/8.
Discussion tweeter ST350A/B: Both versions have a ferrite magnet. There is no EDS from EV for the ST350A, but there are many pictures and a video showing the round ferrite magnet under the hood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siLw6EgSDmE
Discussion Midrange driver 1823/1824M: The 1824M has a lower efficiency and the crossover therefore has a changed voltage divider: 2.5/13 ohms. 1823 with voltage divider 3.5/8 Ohm .
In the finished box, the crossover was tacked on the inside to the upper rear wall, for the kit it was possible to purchase a crossover on a board.
Measurements of HiFi-Selbstbau.de certify the Sentry III finished box with 815 9062 TT as a case that is much too large for the parameters. The omnidirectional behavior of SM120 with 1823 MT driver and HT SM350A, praised by EV, is hardly available after that.
