The Dual 1229 is the big plate changer from the DUAL series of devices at that time and thus the flagship of that time. Its heavy cast plate, in conjunction with the solidly constructed plate bearing, ensure absolutely clean synchronism. The rumbling, which used to be often criticized in friction cyclists, can be safely neglected with this device, provided that the friction wheel is still soft and round. But here, too, there are often refurbished or even completely newly created friction wheels in 3D printing. But beware! The central CO-criterion here are devices switched off during operation, e.g. via a socket strip or by means of a "plug from the socket", which have migrated to the basement shelf for a long time in this state. The friction wheel remains on the drive shaft and this presses into the rubber in the long run, as a result of which it gets a kind of notch and becomes unusable. After that, the devices no longer run cleanly and rumble sometimes massively. The turntable is based on the Dual 1219, its predecessor and once again contains some improvements (including a strobe light under the turntable, etc.). Well-maintained drives in top condition achieve maximum prices in the mid to upper three-digit range today. The originality is important here, since only absolutely unadorned devices (exception: Changed DIN connection cable to RCA, since that was already available for the foreign market at that time) move in this price league.
