The box has very sensitive dome tweeters. For used boxes, you should therefore listen to a sample before buying. Defective tweeters can even be repaired at Canton today (2007) if you send them in! Cost: about 70 €/piece. The repair is called at Canton reconen. Canton has therefore equipped younger models with a screw-out high-frequency fuse in the rear wall. If you want to retrofit this yourself, you will need a fuse (1.25 A fast) and a screw-on fuse holder for installation. The fuse is connected in the positive line between the crossover and the tweeter.
The GLE 100 was produced as a left and right box, i.e. the pair of boxes is asymmetrical, since the tweeter is always located on the outside.
