Model: EQ-ONE

The Audio Source EQ-ONE has a very high measurement and control accuracy, as with very expensive studio devices. This precise device has all the possibilities to make a large number of exact settings in a stereo system easily and effectively, whereby errors that occur can be detected and corrected quickly. Purpose of use: The EQ-One serves a variety of functions, but mainly to compensate for the influences of the listening room, which are determined by the setup and installation of the speakers. Since each room has its own specific acoustics, speakers tested in a demonstration room can sound differently in your or another listening room. The individual frequency curve of the loudspeaker boxes therefore depends to a large extent on the nature of the listening room. Since this can not or only with difficulty be tuned to the requirements of the loudspeakers, the most important task of the EQ-One is to produce a flat frequency response for each stereo channel separately, which is to be understood as a correction of the existing, uncorrected frequency response and compensates for the influences, such as frequency dips and "standing waves". The AUDIO SOURCE EQ-One is not only used for hi-Fi use, but also in recording studios, for home recording and on stage. Method of operation: The EQ-ONE is equalized by a synthetically generated pink noise signal, which is composed of equal parts from all frequencies. This signal is reproduced over the loudspeakers in the entire frequency response and recorded by the condenser microphone. This signal will now not result in a flat frequency response in its frequency center range, but individual frequency center ranges will be either above or below the linear line indicated by the green LED. The frequency range actually reproduced by the speakers is visible through the display. This information is used to actuate the equalizer part of the EQ-ONE, with whose slide controls, which correspond to the frequency center ranges of the display, a flat frequency response can be set.
